Just like everything else about Niagara-on-the-Lake Cottage rental, the garden is full of history, beauty, and peace that is difficult to find anywhere else.
This beautiful, natural garden is shaded by overgrown trees, brightened by exuberant sprays of local flowers, and offers cozy nooks for getting away with a book or enjoying a glass of wine with your loved ones. As an added bonus, it’s also 100% chemical-free. Niagara-on-the-Lake Cottage Rental is a proud member of Greening Niagara incentive, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the community about environmental issues and reforesting the Niagara area.
Maria and her staff are justly proud of their natural, native, and organic heritage garden. To ensure that the yard is beautiful and unique during each and every season of the year, each plant has been carefully selected and designed by a Shaw Festival designer. The mature plants and trees, all ranging between 20-70 years in age, are all indigenous to the Niagara area and were hand-planted by Maria and her father. The only other place that an old-growth forest similar to our garden can be found is along Niagara Parkway, where the natural, native legacy forest has been preserved.
Countless species of butterflies and birds find haven in the garden and add a gentle ambiance to the already relaxing atmosphere. Please enjoy the video below to learn more about our garden and see it as it appears in the summer.
